PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a dropping sound at the time of charging the laundry. SOLUTION: The main body of a laundry storing apparatus has a charging opening 2 through which the laundry is charged into the main body, a charging door 3 for opening and closing the charging opening, a front intermediate door 16 and rear intermediate door 17 which are paired and horizontally divided the main body, a laundry-receiving net 30 adapted to receive the laundry, and a lifting mechanism for moving vertically the laundry receiving net 30. When a small amount of the laundry is received by the laundry-receiving net 30, the net 30 is moved upward and, when a full-amount detecting optical sensor 24 detects that the laundry-receiving net 30 is full with the laundry, the net 30 is moved downward.
