PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease cost or the like by shortening a carrying time of a noble metal to a carrier by a method wherein the carrier to which a wash coat is applied and an electrically-conductive material are dipped in a solution in which a noble metal is dissolved, and the carrier to a cathode side of a power source and the electrically- conductive material are respectively connected to an anode side to apply a voltage between both electrodes. SOLUTION: When on manufacturing a catalyst purifying an exhaust gas exhausted from an internal combustion engine or the like, a noble metal is carried by a plate carrier or the like having a wash coat layer, at first the carrier 1 to which the wash coat layer is applied and an electrically conductive material 2 are respectively dipped into a noble metal solution 3, and the carrier 1 to a cathode side and the electrically- conductive material 2 are respectively arranged to the anode side, and respectively connected to a power source 4. Then, a voltage is applied between both electrodes, a noble metal ion of a positive charge existing in the noble metal solution 3 is attracted to the carrier 1 on the cathode side, so that the noble metal is carried by the carrier 1. Thereby the noble metal onto the carrier 1 is carried highly efficiently at a high speed, and the catalyst equipped with a required purifying performance manufactured at a low cost. |
