<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing compost by efficiently and well fermenting a large amt. of compost material. SOLUTION: The compost material is housed in a container C having air permeability. The container C is stored into a first fermentation area 2. The air in the fermentation area 2 is circulated through a moisture removing means, by which the excess moisture is removed and the carbon dioxide concn. and temp. thereof are increased. When the anaerobic fermentation of the housed compost material progresses, the container C is transferred from the first fermentation area 2 to a second fermentation area 4. The inside of the second fermentation area 4 is ventilated by intake of the outdoor air and the turning of the compost material in the container C is executed at every other suitable time, by which the aerobic fermentation of the compost material in the container C is progressed.</p> |
