PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for coating pasty substance in which pasty substance is regulated in a suitable amount by preventing unevenness of application amount in the case of coating a very small amount of a pasty substance. SOLUTION: The device for coating a pasty substance is equipped with a nozzle 15 discharging the pasty substance from a tip part and is constituted so that pasty substance is discharged in such a state that the tip part of the nozzle 15 is approached to a terminal electrode 12 and is applied to the terminal electrode 12. The above-mentioned device is constituted so as to be regulated so that the distance between the tip part of the nozzle 15 and the terminal electrode 12 becomes set-up distance. In the case of this constitution, a pasty substance is applied in such a state that the distance between the tip part of the nozzle 15 and the terminal electrode 12 is regulated to the set-up distance. Therefore, even in the case of coating a very small amount of a pasty substance, unevenness of application amount is prevented.
