PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of dust collecting efficiency and to improve the operability when the cleaning filter is cleaned, exchanged, detached and attached by passing all the air sucked into a casing surely through the inside of the cleaning filter. SOLUTION: The inside of a casing 16 is divided by a partition plate 18 into the front and rear housing parts, a cleaning filter 35 is set in the front housing part 20, a fan is provided in the rear housing part, the indoor air is sucked in and cleaned by the filter 35, and then the cleaned air is blown into the room. In the air cleaner 15, a sealing member 37 is disposed over the whole circumference of the edge of the filter 35 on the partition plate 18 side to seal between the edge and the inner face of the front housing part 20.
