PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the golf ball to have excellent slipping property without loosing the impact resistance of a coating film and to keep the effect for a long period. SOLUTION: The additive for a golf ball coating is made of a graft copolymer formed from a mono or di(meth)acrylate having a specific polysiloxane group and a vinyl monomer or an A-B type block copolymer using the graft copolymer as a A segment and using a polymer without the polysiloxane group made of a vinyl monomer as a B segment. The graft or block copolymer is desirably provided with a hydroxy group or an isocyanate group. The golf ball coating is obtained by adding the graft or block copolymer to a urethane or acrylic coating. The golf ball is obtained by forming a coating film with the coating on the surface of its main body.
