PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron that does not require the covering of clothing with a cloth during ironing. SOLUTION: An iron 1 is fitted with circular balls 4, 5 and three rollers 6, 7, 8 and a cylindrical piece of cloth 9 is put over these members and slightly squeezed into a smaller size at each side by a cord 10 or the like so that it is not removed from the circular balls and rollers. As the iron moves longitudinally, the cloth 9 moves while being smoothly rotated by each roller. Therefore, the need to apply the cloth directly to clothing is eliminated.
