PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helping device with a structure excellent in handling for helping a crippled person such as a physically handicapped person and an old man to bathe at home. SOLUTION: A helping device comprises a device main body 2 supported to sidewall sections of a bathtub 7, a helping chair 3 ascendably, descendably and foldably mounted on the helping device main body 2, an ascending/ descending section 5 for lifting up and down the helping chair 3, and a fixing section 8 for assembling that is mounted on the bathtub 7 for detachably fixing assembling to hook up the device main body 2. Determination for positioning the device main body 2 to the bathtub 7 at assembling becomes easy and sure, and ascending/descending operations of the helping chair 3 are safely conducted along the device main body 2 while using it without any special skill for handling it. Since the helping chair 3 is foldably disposed in the device main body 2, the device can be contained in a compact size after use.
