PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a traction grease composition for a planetary roller type traction drive used as a speed changer in a machine tool or others by dispersing a thickener in a base oil comprising a hydrogenated substance of a specific dimer to a specified trimer of anα-alkylstyrene, a specified thermally copolymerized substance, etc. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by dispersing a thickener in a base oil comprising (A) 60-95 mass % of at least one kind of compound represented by formulae I to III (R1 to R19 are each H, a 1-3C alkyl or cyclohexyl; Q1 to Q7 are each a 1-3C alkyl or cyclohexyl; n1 to n7 are each 0-5) and (B) 5-40 mass % of a cyclopentadiene-based petroleum resin which is a thermally copolymerized substance of cyclopentadienes withα-olefins or monovinyl-aromatic hydrocarbons, a hydrogenated substance or a mixture thereof having >=40 deg.C softening point or >=400 weight-average molecular weight.
