PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion tube for treating molten steel, which reduces the expansion/shrinkage of studs for holding refractory, prevents the peeling, the spalling, or the like, of the refractory to extend the service life thereof and can reduce the number of spare immersion tubes and the refractory cost. SOLUTION: In the immersion tube 13 for treating the molten steel which fits ceramic pieces 22 on the outer periphery of a core metal 17 and sticks monolithic refractory 18 by locking the monolithic refractory 18 with the ceramic pieces 22, the ceramic piece 22 is provided with a through-hole 24 at the center part and composed of a ceramic plate 25 having projecting parts 23 for locking the monolithic refractory 18 and a stud pin 27 fitted into the through-hole 24 of the ceramic plate 25 and holding the ceramic plate 25, and the stud pin 27 is arc-welded to the core metal 17.
