PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chromene composition having a sufficient coloring concentration, a low fading rate, slight discoloration in deterioration and excellent balance of photochromic characteristics, useful for a photochromic lens, etc. by including a specific chromene compound and an ultraviolet light absorber in a specific ratio. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a chromene composition of formula I [R1 is a group of formula II or the like; R2 and R3 are each a (substituted) aromatic hydrocarbon or the like; R4 is a substituent group; R5 and R6 are each H, a (substituted) 1-10 alkyl or the like; (n) is 0-4] [e.g. 6-morpholino-3,3-bis(3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenyl)-3H-benzo(f)chromene or the like] and (B) 10-1,000 pts.wt. of an ultraviolet light absorber [e.g. 2-(5-methyl-2- hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazole or the like].
