PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cleaning agent composition for a fuel oil capable of providing sufficient cleaning effects by addition of a small amount even when used in a light oil, etc. exposed to severe environments. SOLUTION: This cleaning agent composition for a fuel oil comprises (a) a polyether compound obtained by carrying out an addition polymerization of an alkylene oxide containing ethylene oxide in an amount of 5-50 wt.% based on the total alkylene oxide with active hydrogens of a polyamine compound having >=4 primary amino groups and/or >=4 secondary amino groups in the molecule and 4-100 nitrogen atoms and having 10,000 to 100,000 average molecular weight and (b) a compound prepared by reacting an alkylsuccinic acid derivative or an alkenylsuccinic acid derivative with a polyamine. The cleaning agent composition is added to the fuel oil for use.
