PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and a decorative design property and to completely prevent washing water from scattering to the outside when a cover is opened by eliminating the lateral movement during the opening/closing actions of the cover in a dish washer for washing dishes. SOLUTION: The opening section of a washing tub 21 is openably covered with a cover 23 journalled to a dish washer body, and a handle 24 journalled at the position on the opposite side to the journal section of the cover 23 is provided with a hold section 26 covering the outer opening section 27 of the cover 23 and a lock section 30 protruded on the back side of the cover 23 and rotated interlockingly with the hold section 26. The hold section 26 and the lock section 30 of the handle 24 are excited in the coupling direction with a cover lock mechanism 32 fixed to the dish washer body when the cover 23 is closed, the cover lock mechanism 32 is electrically locked while the lock section 30 is kept coupled during an operation, and it is electrically unlocked when the operation is temporarily stopped.
