PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart such superior dielectric characteristics as a high relative dielectric constant, a low absolute value of the temp. coefft. of resonance frequency and a high no-load quality factory by incorporating specified amts. of an alkali metal oxide and Bi2O3, into a principal component consisting of BaO, RE2O3 and TiO2. SOLUTION: One or more alkali metal oxides and Bi2O3 are incorporated by <=5 pts.wt. each into 100 pts.wt. principal component having a compsn. represented by the formula xBaO-yRE2O3-zTiO2 (where RE is a rare earth element, x+y+z=100, 0<x$27.0, 0<y<=30.0 and 55.0<=z<=100.0) to obtain the objective dielectric material having >=6,000 GHz product of its no-load quality factor and resonance frequency. The RE2O3 is one or more selected from La2O3, CeO2, Pr6O11, Nd2O3 and Sm2O3. The alkali metal oxides are oxides of one or more alkali metals selected from Li, Na and K. |
