<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head constraining side air bag simplifying the fitting work to a car body and capable of being manufactured at a low cost by forming a case with a resin extruded material, and forming fitting sections to the side upper section of a car room at the side section by thermal press machining. SOLUTION: A fastener 6 on the rear end side of the case 2 of this head constraining side air bag (TB) 1 is fixed integrally with an assist grip 10, then the TB1 is located along the roof side and fixed by screwing the fitting sections 3 provided on the case 2 to a car body. The bag of the fitted TB1 is normally kept in the folded state in the case 2, and the case 2 itself is set to the closed state that the end edges of a flat section and a curved face section are overlapped. When a side collision phenomenon occurs on a vehicle, the gas of a gas cylinder 5 is fed into the bag, and the expanded bag opens the case 2 and is deployed between the car body and the head of an occupant. The fitting work can be simplified, the case 2 is made of a resin extruded material, the fitting sections 3 are thermally pressed, and the TB 1 can be manufactured at a low cost.</p> |
