摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain titanium bis(hydrogenphosphate) having a grain shape different from that of a conventional titanium bis(hydrogenphosphate) and rich in usefulness. SOLUTION: Grains of titanium bis(hydrogenphosphate) are formed into twin crystal grains in the shape of at least >=2 disklike or semidisklike crystals mutually interpenetrated. In the twin crystal grains, the maximum diameter of the respective disklike or semidisklike crystals constituting the twin crystal grains is 0.5-12μm and the ratio of the diameter to thickness thereof is >=1. The twin crystal grains of the titanium bis(hydrogenphosphate) are obtained by mixing a titanium compound such as titanyl sulfate, hydrous titanium oxide or a particulate titanium oxide having <=0.1μm primary particle diameter with an aqueous solution of phosphoric acid at >=70 wt.% concentration so as to provide 1-40 ratio of P2O5 to TiO2 and reacting both at 50-140 deg.C temperature.
