PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high-purity 1,1,1- trimethylhydrazinium hydroxide by using hydrated hydrazine, 1-methylhydrazine or 1,1-dimethylhydrazine and dimethyl carbonate as raw materials. SOLUTION: Hydrated hydrazine, 1-methylhydrazine or 1,1-dimethylhydrazine is reacted with dimethyl carbonate to give 1,1,1-trimethylhydrazinium carbonate and/or 1,1,1-trimethylhydrazinium bicarbonate, which is then electrolyzed using a cation-exchanger membrane as a permeable membrane to produce 1,1,1- trimethylhydrazinium hydroxide.
