PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the filter body of completely novel structure by which the superfine suspended matter such as smoke, pollen and mite excrement in the air are effectively removed and with the removing function maintained for a long period. SOLUTION: Many honeycomb through-holes 1 of the same shape curved spirally with a fixed curvature are regularly and uniformly arranged in the air-permeable porous body having innumerable open microcells with the spiral axes 5 of rotation parallel with one another and with the same orientation, and the section of the through-hole vertical to the axis 5 is circular 2 or equilateral-polygonal. With such a structure, the gas passing through the through-hole is centrifugally passed through the bulkhead between the through- holes and multiply filtered, and the high-performance filter body permeable to the gas for a long period is obtained.
