PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve manufacture efficiency of the air filter by forming a woven/knitted fabric with thermoplastic resin fibrous material contg. a fungicide as either of warp or weft and manufacturing the air filter from the fabric. SOLUTION: This air filter appropriately used as an air filter for an air conditioner or air purifier is manufactured from a woven/knitted fabric formed with thermoplastic resin fibrous material of warp weft. As a thermoplastic resin used for producing the fibers, a polyolefin-based resin that is comparatively inexpensive and yet, capable of maintaining stable quality of the fibers in continuous filament yarn production, is preferred. As the fungicide, specifically, a Vinyzene-based fungicide such as 10,10'-oxybisphenoxarsine or a zinc pyrithione- based fungicide such as zinc 2-pyridinethiol-1-oxide, is used. As a woven/knitted structure of the woven/knitted fabric, although by such structure can be used without special limitation, a honeycomb woven structure consisting of such fibers having a 80 to 500 dr fineness is preferred.
