MOLD FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting mold for producing a cast piece having the least surface defect. SOLUTION: A nickel metallic layer 2 is provided on the whole mold inner face of a continuous casting mold composed of a copper or a copper alloy. A thermal spraying layer 3 composed of a quasi crystal alloy is provided on the nickel metallic layer 2 at a top part of the mold inner face. Since the optimum cooling condition for casting is thus made available, manufacture of a casting piece with the least surface crack is made possible.
