PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the increase of pressure loss in a filter layer and the clogging of a supporting material by using a soft magnetic material as the supporting material for supporting magnetic powder of a filter media, magnetizing the supporting material by a magnetization device at the time of filtration and holding the magnetic powder of the filter media with the magnetic force. SOLUTION: A filter casing 8 is provided with the filter media composed of the magnetic powder on the supporting material 11 provided between a water feed port 9 and a water discharge port 10 and the soft magnetic material is used as the supporting material 11. Sewage to be filtered enters into the filter casing 8 from the water feed port 9 and is filtered through the filter layer of the soft ferrite powder of the filter media 12 before discharged from the water discharge port 10. At this time, because the filter media 12 is leaked from the supporting material 11 to be discharged from the water discharge port 10 with the filtrate, the soft ferrite particles are stuck to each other to prevent the leakage from the filter casing 8 by applying soft weak current to a coil 14 of an electromagnet to generate weak magnetic field and magnetizing the supporting material 11 by the magnetic field.
