PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of dealing with troubles in a game system controller, for economically and efficiently dealing with troubles that may occur in the card management device of a game system, while maintaining the functions of the card management device as the entire system. SOLUTION: If a trouble occurs in the terminal controller TC of each game parlor, a management center 4 and an island controller SC detect the trouble of the terminal controller TC and a virtual terminal controller VTC is actuated in the management center 4. Also, a transmit information database TCa and an issued card database TCb, or the like are restored in accordance with log data or the like transmitted from the island controller SC, whereby substitute operation using the virtual terminal controller VTC is effected.
