PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a tablet capable of being readily administered while dissolving with the upper and lower parts of a tongue, having a moderate hardness and good in feeling on the tongue by tableting a mixture containing a pharmacodynamically active ingredient and an excipient and providing the specific hardness. SOLUTION: This tablet is produced by tableting a mixture containing (A) a pharmacodynamically effective ingredient and (B) an excipient so as to provide 5-10 kg hardness. For example, ascorbic acid (salt) (e.g. calcium ascorbate), calcium (e.g. precipitated calcium carbonate) and a live bacterium having controlling actions on the intestinal functions (e.g. a lactic acid bacterium) are preferably used as the ingredient A. Saccharides such as white sugar, lactose, glucose, mannitol or a thick malt syrup of reducing maltase, starch, crystalline cellulose, calcium phosphate, etc., are cited as the ingredient B. The content of the ingredient B is preferably about 40-70 wt.% in the tablet. The size of the tablet is preferably 10-25 mm diameter and 6.4-6.6 mm tablet thickness in the case of, e.g. a chewable tablet tableted into a circular form.
