PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the detergent composition useful for cleaning e.g. natural fiber products or chemical synthetic fiber products, low in foaming property even when applied to a strong water flow and capable of effectively cleaning off dirt e.g. muddy stain. SOLUTION: This detergent composition for centrifugal washing machine comprises (A) a nonionic surface-active agent of e.g. a compound of the formula: R-O-(AO)p-H (R is an 8-18C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, e.g. an 8-18C aliphatic saturated primary alcohol residue; AO is ethylene oxide or propylene oxide; and (p) is 1 to 30) and (B) an oxide-based bleach of e.g. hydrogen peroxide, percarbonate or perborate. The composition pref. comprises 15 to 99.9 wt.% of component A and 0.1 to 85 wt.% of component B and is diluted when used so that the total content of components A and B may be 0.001 to 5 g/L.
