A crusher head (108) wobbles due to rotation of an eccentric (182) within a corresponding bore of the crusher head. Material, such as rocks, to be crushed enters by gravity in a crushing gap (102) between the crusher head and a crusher stator (124), whereafter the crushed material exits through the lower end (110) of the crushing gap (102). An anti-spin mechanism preventing spinning of the crusher head (108) includes fingers (130, 134) disposed at a bottom portion of the crushing gap (102). The fingers alternate with free openings for exit of the material. The anti-spin mechanism does not interfere with the crushing apparatus as do clutch-based, anti-spin mechanisms. The anti-spin mechanism relies on mechanical prohibition of rotation of the crusher head (108) with respect to the bowl (124) due to finger-on-finger engagement. The fingers can be mounted on mantles (62), bowl liners (66), bowls (72), housing, or crushing heads (63) to achieve anti-spin functions. <IMAGE> |
