The present invention relates to apparatus for use with parabolic antenna reception systems designed to collect signals from a satellite and reflect the signal to a focal point and having a low noise block ("LNB") positioned at the focal point to receive the concentrated satellite signal, and send it in to a receiver, said apparatus designed to provide an extremely economical and effective remedy for rain-fade and a small UV-resistant plastic hood which easily affixes over the top and sides of the LNB with tape or wire and acts as an umbrella, protecting the LNB and the last few centimeters of signal from rain and snow, without interfering with the signal itself ultimately ensuring that a mini-dish system equipped with the present invention maintains satellite television service substantially beyond a similar dish not so equipped. Further, instead of retaining damaging moisture, the present invention actually protects the sensitive electronics within the LNB from damaging UV rays.
