FIELD: treatment of surfaces of ferrous and nonferrous metals for cleaning them from oxides, salts and grease contamination. SUBSTANCE: composition may be used in industries for preparation of metal surface for painting, electroplating, subsequent preservation and also in household chemical utilities. The composition contains, wt.-%: orthophosphoric acid, 37.0-40.0; butyl alcohol (butanol-1), 2.5-3.0; ALKAMON DSU anticorrosive surfactant with general formula <EMI ID=0.1 HE=18 WI=67 TI=CHI>, 5.0-5.5; water, the balance. After treatment of metal surface with offered composition, surface of specimens preserves its passivity for several days under intensive corrosion conditions. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 tbl
