FIELD: heat treatment of forgings of bearing races; obtaining protective atmosphere for structural annealing. SUBSTANCE: container has outer casing 1, chute 2 secured over perimeter and filled with heat-proof loose material 3. Inner chamber 4 located inside outer housing is provided with perforated walls for placing the forgings and is made from heat-proof material. It is simultaneously used as transportation container for transfer of parts. Space between outer housing and inner chamber is filled with charcoal or activated carbon forming acid-free atmosphere during annealing. Container is tightly closed with beaded cover.
