An intermediate plate (3) is placed above and at a distance from the water tub, allowing steam to pass through it. Holes are provided through which feet/hands can be inserted to rest on the intermediate plate and there are collars (6) around the holes for closure against the ankles/wrists. The collars comprise tube-shaped stockings (6). A mat (4) on the intermediate plate has raised plugs. The water tub only occupies a minor part of the box surface. It has a lid which has holes distributed over its surface, providing distribution of steam from the tub. The heating element (7) can be regulated by a thermostat arrangement (8). The feet are pre-treated in a wet sauna before the remainder of the body is treated in a sauna. The pre-treatment takes place in a closed container with internal heating of water. The treatment is suitable for patients who are diabetic. |
