PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a carbon-containing refractory capable of keeping the carbon bond strength low while obtaining high packing and high density refractory structure, excellent in corrosion resistance and also excellent in damage resistance by using a binder low in residual ratio and a refractory raw material having a fixed particle size in combination. SOLUTION: In this carbon-containing refractory containing the refractory raw material, a carbon raw material and the binder, the refractory raw material contains <=30 wt.% particle having <=0.3 mm particle diameter and 20-90 wt.% particle having >=1 mm particle diameter per 100 wt.% in total of the refractory raw material and the binder is <=30 wt.% in the residual ratio of the binder and preferably <=100 poise in the viscosity of the binder. |
