PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject new compound useful as a color development and erasure controlling agent for a reversible heat-sensitive recording material having quick erasing performance and storage stability under a wide using environmental, condition. SOLUTION: The compound is expressed by formula I ((p) is 0-2; (q) is 1-11; (r) is 11-17) and formula II, e.g. N-phenyl-6-(N'-octadecylureido) hexanamide. The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by the condensation reaction of a compound of formula III with aniline, benzylamine or phenethylamine using a condensation agent, preferably dicyclohexyl carbodiimide, etc. The compound of formula II can be produced by reacting a compound of formula HO(CH2)qNH2 with a compound of formula OCN (CH2)rCH3 at equivalent ratio in an organic solvent such as toluene and reacting the resultant compound of formula IV with phenyl isocyanate. |
