PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the problem that water absorbing fibers are napped by forming the surface layer of a roll for absorbing ink adhering to a belt at the time of carrying a copy sheet to a print section in an ink jet printer of an entangled fiber sheet including water absorbing fibers. SOLUTION: An ink absorbing layer 2 on the inside of a surface layer 1 is provided on the surface of a hard layer 3 integral with a shaft 4 thus constituting an absorbing roll. The surface layer 1 and the absorbing layer are composed of water absorbing fibers, i.e., cellulose based fibers or high water absorbing fibers. In particular, the surface layer 1 is composed of an entangled fiber sheet including water absorbing fibers so that the water absorbing fibers are not napped. The water absorbing fiber composing the ink absorbing layer 2 is not limited but fibers having size of 1-10 denier and length of 25-110 mm are preferably employed. |
