ANTIMICROBIAL FIBER STRUCTURE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber structure having an antimicrobial property, excellent in durability to industrial washing and a method for producing the fiber structure. SOLUTION: This antimicrobial fiber structure has >=0.1 m2 surface area of a synthetic fiber used for per g fiber structure or <=8 denier single fiber fineness of the synthetic fiber used for fiber structure and has colored synthetic fiber and contains a pyridine-based antimicrobial agent having 200-700 molecular weight and 0.3-1.4 ratio of inorganic value to organic value and <=2μm average particle diameter. The antimicrobial fiber structure can be obtained by immersing a fiber structure into a liquid containing the pyridine-based antimicrobial agent and coloring material and treating the fiber structure in the liquid at 90-160 deg.C under ordinary pressure or pressurization.
