PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform operations to release an opening and closing lever in the central part without visually recognizing the opening and closing lever. SOLUTION: This container such as a cooler box 1 is provided with a container body part 2, a lid part 3 and a mechanism 4 for mounting the lid part 3. The container body part 2 has an opening at the top and a housing space communicating with the opening in the interior thereof. The lid part 3 is freely openably and closably mounted on the container body part 2 so that the opening can be closed. The mechanism 4 for mounting the lid part 3 is equipped with an opening and closing lever 17 arranged along both edges of the lid part 3 and having the lower side on the operation side curved convex downward and plural mounting parts arranged at an interval kept therebetween in the longitudinal direction and capable of assuming a mounted state and a released state by operating the opening and closing lever 17 and is used for openably and closably mounting the lid part 3 on the container body part 2.
