PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use paper discharge bins efficiently by providing a paper discharge mode for using the paper discharge bin as a mail box and a paper discharge mode for using the paper discharge bin as a job separate tray and switching the mode depending on specified conditions. SOLUTION: A mode for using a mail bin 23 as a mail box and a mode for using the mail bin 23 as a job separate tray are prepared for a network printer 3. A CPU controlling the operation of the network printer 3 generally performs switching control of these paper discharge modes depending on specified conditions, e.g. every predetermined time band set be means of a clock. This arrangement provides advantages of both the mode for using the mail bin 23 as a mail box inherent to each terminal and the mode for using the mail bin 23 as a job separate tray for sorting discharged papers to paper discharge bins for each print job from the terminal. |
