PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacture for a fluorescent screen in which pigment filter layers in a stable state, particularly red pigment filter layers can be formed in a short period of exposure time using a small number of exposure devices, to lower costs. SOLUTION: The fluorescent screen is manufactured through a process in which black matrices 2 are formed on the inner surface of a panel part face plate 1 of the color cathode ray tube, a process in which first color pigment filter layers 4G and second color pigment filter layers 4B are formed in aperture portions 3, a process in which the first color pigment filter layers 4G and the second color pigment filter layers 4B are dyed to lower light transmissivity, a process in which third color pigment filter applied films 4TR are formed in the aperture portions 3, a process of back exposure of the third color pigment filter applied films 4TR, a process in which the third color pigment filter layers 4R are formed in the exposed portions by developing, and a process in which fluorescent substance layers 5G, 5B, 5R having same colors as the respective pigment filter layers are formed on the first color pigment filter layers 4G, the second color pigment filter layers 4B, and the third color pigment filter layers 4T.
