PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set an area code before a subscriber telephone number previously stored in a memory. SOLUTION: A control circuit 16 reads the subscriber telephone number out of a telephone directory memory 22 and displays it on a display 23. When a user inputs a preset command for setting any new digit before the subscriber telephone number, the control circuit 16 erases the display of the subscriber telephone number from the display 23. When the user inputs the area code, the control circuit 16 displays only this area code on the display 23. When the user inputs a transmission command, the control circuit 16 transmits all the telephone number composed of the area code and subscriber telephone number to a base station.
