PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a packing fitted in a joint from dangling or slipping off without use of adhesives and easily perform ocularly the checking of the packing fitting operation and acceptability of the workmanship. SOLUTION: An engaging projection 2 on a packing fitted in a joint body 51 is inserted in a hole 9, which is provided on the side with joint body 51 and equipped with a minor diameteric portion 91, major diameteric portion 92, and a step 93. The projection 2 is equipped with a neck 21, extension 22, and a step 23, wherein the step 23 has a greater diameter than the minor diameteric portion 91, and the extension 22 is longer than the major diameteric portion 92. In the condition that the packing is fitted in place, the extension 22 protrudes to outside the hole 9. When the projection 2 is grasped by fingers and pulled to be inserted into the hole 9, a touch sense is generated when the step 23 passes over the other 93.
