PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gasket in inclined condition from being interposed between a cover and its mounting part in case the center line of the gasket is positioned on a part overhung from the straight line tying together two adjoining cover fastening points by a bolt and the line of action of a bolt thrust force does not pass the center line of the gasket when the bolt is fastened. SOLUTION: Two portions outer and inner are bounded about a projection 1B as boundary on the gasket base 1A of the part positioned overhung from the straight line tying together two adjoining cover fastening points of a gasket 1, and that portion positioned in the overhanging direction is furnished with a projection 1C on the contacting surface with a mounting flange 2A on the cover 2. For example, in a position where the gasket 1 is continued curving, the outer one of the two portions is furnished with projection 1C on the contacting surface with the mounting flange 2A of the cover 2.
