PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high purity hydrogen peroxide aq. soln. by vaporizing a hydrogen peroxide aq. soln. in a vaporizing device, separating the vapor, and introducing the vapor into a rectification tower packed with a zirconium packing material to be concentrated. SOLUTION: A crude hydrogen peroxide aq. soln. containing 15 to 40 wt.% hydrogen peroxide is introduced into a vaporizing device 22 through a line 21, and vaporized under conditions of 50 to 200 Torr at 40 to 90 deg.C to obtain a gas-liquid mixture. The gas-liquid mixture is supplied to a gas-liquid separating device 24 through a line 23 and separated into the vapor consisting of volatile impurities. hydrogen peroxide and water, and a hydrogen peroxide aq. soln. containing nonvolatile impurities in an equilibrium state with the vapor compsn. The vapor is introduced through a line 25 into the bottom of a rectification tower 26 packed with a zirconium packing material 31. While the vapor passes upward through the packing material 31, the concn. of hydrogen peroxide is decreased and the concn. of hydrogen peroxide in the descending liquid increases. Thus, the liquid is discharged as a concentrated high purity hydrogen peroxide aq. soln. from the tower bottom through a line 32.
