PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing structure for a vehicle door that can ensure passenger safety in the event that an impact load exceeding a specified value is exerted laterally on the vehicle, without increasing the weight. SOLUTION: A reinforcing structure is provided in a window shoulder portion S in a front door 3. The front door 3 has a front end hinged to a vehicle body and a rear end releasably engaged with the vehicle body by a lock mechanism. The reinforcing structure includes a first reinforcing member 30 extending along the generally entire length of the front door 3 and a second reinforcing member 40 extending from near a rear end 3a of the front door 3 to forward of a medial portion C of the front door 3. A weakened portion W is formed forward of the medial portion C of the front door 3.
