PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a sheet stacking device being full of sheets to preliminarily cope with it, and favorably stop it when it is full of the sheets. SOLUTION: A detection means 80 to detect if sheets are stacked on a tray 74 on the upstream side of a carrying direction for a specified number from a final stand-by position, and a detection means 78 to detect if the sheets are stacked on the tray 74 at the final stand-by position or not in carrying the trays 74 as plural stacking members on which the sheets are stacked from the upstream side of the sheet carrying direction to the final stand-by position by a carrying means 76 are provided, and a condition before becoming full of the sheets and that after becoming full of the sheets are detected.
