Production of a sweetened concentrated dairy product comprises mixing a dried milk-based product (I) with water, sugar, fat and optionally glucose, where (I) contains mineral salts, protein and lactose, has a lactose content below 3.75%, comprises about 8.5% fat, about 21% milk solids and about 44.5% sugar, and has a ratio of sugar to sugar and water above 0.6. An Independent claim is also included for a sweetened, concentrated, recombined milk product produced by the process.
