SOLUTION: This telephone system is provided with a call origination source detector 1 serially connected to a telephone line L on the preceding stage of a telephone set T and a call origination source information display device 2 provided near the telephone set T, the call origination source information detector 1 is provided with a call origination source information receiving means 15 for receiving the call origination source information sent from an exchange through the telephone line L and a wireless transmission means 16 for wirelessly transmitting this received call origination source information, and the call origination source information display device 2 is provided with a wireless reception means 22 for wirelessly receiving the call origination source information transmitted from the call origination source information detector and a call origination source information display means 23 for displaying this received call origination source information.
