PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter device formed into a continuous spiral by lathing a low-sp.gr. base material, etc., contg. air, with the floated turnings, etc., if any, efficiently discharged to prevent their agglomeration and not causing such serious situations as the damage of a filter and the stoppage of the rotating filter drum. SOLUTION: Cutting oil mixed with turnings including the turnings floated on the liq. surface is filtered, hence purified cutting oil is obtained, and the turnings are recovered. This filter device is formed from a circular part 18 extended practically along the circular periphery of a filter drum 30 on the bottom face side and shallows 20 to which scoop-up members 12 are returned from a turnings outlet 14, proceeding toward the outlet 14 and continuously formed from the circular part 18, and the scoop-up members 12 are arranged along the bottom face.
