PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate and simplify the maintenance work for the interior of a spout housing in a device for washing hands that is structured by providing the spout housing above a hand washing counter, mounting a spout thereon and providing a conducting tube for supplying water to the spout in the housing. SOLUTION: In a hand washing device 12 where a spout housing 28 having a housing front plate 30 playing the role of a splash board and a top board 32 is provided in a manner of contacting the hand washing counter 14 above the hand washing counter provided with a washbasin 16, the spout 34 is provided in the housing front plate 30 and a conducting tube 38 for supplying water is provided in the housing, the top board 32 is made detachable, and made to play the role of an inspection opening cover. The top board 32 is made detachable by front-to-back slide by fitting the top board 32 into the housing front plate 30 slidably from the front to the back.
