PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having superior reliability and capable of being manufactured at low working cost. SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery 40 uses an internal electrode body 1 provided with a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate wound through a separator, so as to prevent a contact with each other and the organic electrolyte. A pipe 11 is used as a battery case raw material. In this lithium secondary battery 40, the pipe 11 is preferably formed of the electrically neutral material from the view point of safety. At least one end of the pipe 11 is preferably caulked so as to readily form an external output terminal 15.
