PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the gas flow flowing into a sensor element through a protective cap while avoiding conventional drawbacks of a well-known porous protective cap and to introduce an additive into a protective cap material. SOLUTION: The housing for gas sensor especially measuring exhaust gas from a combustion facility has a porous protective cap 3 at a part 2 projecting into a gas to be measured. The porous protective cap 3 is made of a sintered powder and the pores have a mean diameter in the range of 1-950 μm. A through hole having diameter equal to or larger than 1/10 of the inside diameter of porous protective cap 3 is made in the front face thereof substantially in perpendicular to the direction of gas flow. |
