SOLUTION: A data base with relationship to set a proper failure mode for one equipment is stored in a memory 2, as to respective data for equipments, failure modes, failure causes, and recommended work guidance in plant equipments, and provided is an arithmetic unit 1 for conducting quantitative calculation for failure generation probability and values of various significance evaluating expressions using failure rates, evaluation times, failure generation probability evaluating expressions, Birnbaum significances and the like corresponding to the equipments.failure modes. Work sheets for significance calculation and recommended maintenance work selection are used for analysis thereof to be stored in the memory 2. Failure mode influence analysis hereinbefore is operated by a menu system on a screen of a display 3 to extract an important equipment and to output the recommended maintenance work guidance.</p>
