PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to register a new word by imparting appropriate tone information at the time of new word registration even if knowledge of Chinese is not enough. SOLUTION: When tone information is not specified at the time of new word registration, a new word register part 26 instructs a tone information imparting part 27 to impart the tone information by delivering an index and sounds of the register words a user specifies to the tone information imparting part 27. The tone information imparting part 27 refers to a tone information imparting table 28 which stores information regarding the tone and decides the tone information corresponding to the register words. When the new word register part 26 obtains the tone information from the tone information imparting part 27, it registers this tone information, the sounds and the index of the register words in a user dictionary 25 as new word information. Thus, it is possible to impart appropriate tone information corresponding to the register words and to perform new word register without specifying the tone information at the time of registering the new word.
